The Power of a Healthy Smoothie
I recently listened to a great podcast, Huberman Lab with Dr. Sara Gottfried and Dr. Gottfried stressed the importance of vegetables for the health of the microbiome. Vegetables provide prebiotics and fiber (both of which are also found in flaxseed) and ensure that your digestion is working properly!
This podcast got me motivated to get back into the smoothie game because it's the easiest way to get a ton of veggies into your breakfast. I want to share my favorite veggie-packed smoothie because it is so easy, so tasty, and a recipe your whole family will love.
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 handful spinach
- 2 tbs fresh mint
- 1/2 steamed zucchini
- 10 oz Malibu Mylk
- 1/2 avocado
- 1 scoop protein powder of choice
Blend all ingredients until smooth!
